WWII Japan Sweetheart Pearl Bracelet
A rare and unique sweetheart bracelet, While this piece has engraving from 1963, the theme of the piece as well as its construction speaks strongly to 1940's wartime jewelry. We've been unable to decode the letters on the back, and can only assume they have a deeper meaning. Perhaps a soldier met a Japanese wife at the end of the war, as "war brides" were common at the time. This piece is particularly special for the pearl set within it, right where Tokyo would be.
