Custom Keepsake Pendants
I have always been fascinated with antique Victorian and Georgian era pieces that hold a sentimental treasure under quartz or glass. Every time I admire such an object, it feels like I'm peering through a window into someone's personal journey in this world. It also has an energy of historic preservation behind it, like when you visit a museum with valuable objects in a glass case. It freezes that moment in time.
As someone who has grieved deep loss and now is the mother of two young children, I knew that if I created my own keepsake jewelry piece, I wanted it to be capable of holding a variety of small objects, from mournful to delightful, and be made custom just for you.
The new keepsake pendant features a gorgeous fair mined and faceted quartz crystal, which slightly magnifies what is set beneath it. The quartz is beautifully bezel set, allowing for optional engraving on the sides and bottom of the piece. The sky is the limit as to what you can use in your pendant, anything that is relatively flat will do. Fabric from a baby blanket, hair from a baby's first haircut or from someone you've lost, cremation ash - so many powerful and sentimental things can be encased below the quartz.
Should you choose to engrave your pendant, our Philly hand engraver Lisa can engrave your words in whatever "font" and style feels like it fits your story best.

My own keepsake jewelry pendant holds a very unique piece of my sister Donna's history - a slice of fabric from her well worn and loved Converse sneakers! My sister wore Converse from the time she was in her 20's, it was her signature shoe. Whether wearing them at an indie concert or strolling the streets of Philadelphia, having her shoes represented in my pendant made my heart sing. It also helped me to take something sentimental which had sat on a shelf and bring them to life in a new way.
On the back of my pendant I chose to engrave "thee girl racer," which was her username on her MySpace account (anyone remember MySpace?!) and what she often called herself. On the sides of my piece I chose teeny tiny stars, since Donna always signed her name with a star.

I can't wait to help create a special keepsake piece for your little treasures!
