Antique Celluloid Flower Necklace
Celluloid was one of the first plastics invented, and in the 1920's and 30's it made its way into many types of jewelry. Its lightweight construction and ease with which it could be molded allowed for detailed and affordable designs.
This beautiful necklace has cream colored links with a statement light coral colored pendant taking center stage. The pendant has an Asian as well as Art Deco feel to its design.
HISTORY: Late 1920's
MATERIALS: Celluloid
LENGTH: The chain is a little shy of 18". the pendant measures 1 1/4 width by 2 3/8 length.
CONDITION: Great condition for its age. It is evident that there is fading to the pendant; you can see at the top of the pendant where it used to be a more vibrant peach color.
A collectable and beautiful piece of Art Deco jewelry!
