Victorian Revival Opal and Pearl Pendant Brooch
A perfect jewel for the opal lover or October baby - a gorgeous late Victorian revival opal and pearl brooch which can also be worn as a pendant (there is a bail on the back), giving you two pieces in one. The opal cabochons have vibrant iridescence, displaying blue, green and purple hues. Dangling from the bottom is a pearl with beautiful luster. The style of the pin is very regal feeling, and reminiscent of a crown.
This would make for an amazing bridal pin, hair piece or necklace - or a lovely piece for the mother of the bride - given the symbolism of opal (magic and good luck!).
HISTORY: Circa 1960, Victorian revival
MATERIALS: 14k gold, pearl, opal
SIZE: the pin measures 1 3/16" total length north to south, and 1 1/4" east to west. Each opal cabochon measures 3mm, and the dangling pearl measures 6mm in diameter. The pin weighs a hefty 7.19g
CONDITION: Beautiful condition, no flaws. The opals are in remarkable shape, as is the pearl, and the pin mechanism works great.
A vibrant piece of vintage jewelry.
