Folk Art Quetzal Bird Pin

$85

A bird of Mexico, Guatemala and several other parts of Central/South America, the Quetzal is known for its brightly colored feathers and long tail. The bird is beautifully represented in this vintage souvenir brooch with the lovely engraving and long curved tail. The engraving on this piece, including on the beak and eye, give it a life-like form even while remaining a folk art representation of the bird. This would make a wonderful pin for the bird lover.

HISTORY: 1940's

MATERIALS: 900 silver, copper accent

SIZE: This pin measures 2" long by 2" at its widest point.

CONDITION: Lovely vintage condition. The clasp is a C clasp but it has a locking mechanism to hold the pin securely in place. There is some patina to this piece which we've left intact as it’s a testament to its age.
