A common practice during times of mourning and other important transition moments, hair jewelry was a sign of the Victorian times. This brooch is an iconicly Victorian piece, with beautifully braided hair taking center stage, and a simple lock of hair encircling it. Scalloped outer edges add an elegant touch to this minimalist brooch.
HISTORY: late 1800's Victorian
MATERIALS: Metal, hair
SIZE: The diameter of this piece is 1 3/8"
CONDITION: Beautiful antique condition. The hair is in near perfect condition. The backplate does have many dings and dents, to be expected with age, and there are a few areas where the backplate is pulling away from the scalloped edge. This in no way compromises the wearability of the piece.
