Retro Trilogy Diamond White Gold Engagement Ring

Illusion settings were created to help small diamonds look much bigger than their carat weight, and this gorgeous pierced illusion setting is no exception. The square setting is adorned with flower-like details on the outer four edges, which not only makes the center diamond look bigger, but adds a beautiful touch of femininity. On either side of the square setting is a small diamond, fading into slightly curved shoulders.

The real beauty to this ring is when you peer at it from the side (see the photo of the ring on the finger where this is shown best) where there is a lovely pierced raised setting. This not only gives this ring a unique look, but allows more light to enter and exit the diamond,

This is a wonderful retro engagement ring, which would also make a fine promise ring. With three diamonds, this also represents a trilogy ring, symbolizing past, present and future.

HISTORY: Maker's marks which appear to be "SL", this ring dates it to the late 1940's or early 1950's.

MATERIALS: 14k white gold, diamonds. Diamonds are estimated VS clarity.

SIZE: Ring size 6 1/4. The middle diamond is an estimated .11 ct and each side diamond is an estimated .015ct, for a total carat weight of .14 ct. The height of the setting is 6mm.

CONDITION: Overall beautiful condition. The pierced setting still has a lot of detail to it despite the ring's age, and the band still has a good deal of thickness. There is a small scratch mark on the bottom of the shank where this was once tested for gold content. That could be easily buffed out by your jeweler.
