Modernist Tourmaline and Diamond Necklace

$295
With a pink hued tourmaline as the centerpiece, this pendant has a good deal of feminine flair, but the overall modernist style gives it a bohemian and natural look. Crisscrossing lines, reminiscent of branches, make up the piece, with a sizable tourmaline and a few small diamonds adorning the outer edges. This would be a beautiful piece for the natural bride or as a gift for the October baby (tourmaline and opal are both birthstones for that month).

HISTORY: There is an indecipherable maker's mark on the back. Given the style of marker's mark (very rudimentary), it's likely this was an artisan, handmade piece. We estimate this to be 1980's or a bit earlier.

MATERIALS: 14k gold, diamond, tourmaline, gold filled chain.

SIZE: This piece rests on a new 18" gold filled chain. The pendant itself measures 1" by 5/8". The tourmaline stone is 9mm x 7mm, diamonds are 2 mm each. The piece weighs 2.5 g.

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. There are a number of light scratches to the back of the piece, including the maker's mark and "14k".

A lovely piece with a Japanese feel!
